Ultrasonography and CT Findings of Epigastric Hernia : 3 Case Report
نویسنده
چکیده
This article presents a description of the ultrasonographic and computed tomographic findings with a discussion on the imaging features in three patients with epigastric hernias, simulating abdominal wall lipomas. Ultrasonogram showed a heterogeneous hypoechoic mass encircled by echogenic rim within subcutaneous space of the abdominal wal l. Computed tomographic findings were a localized fatty mass surrounded bya thin capsule in as sociation with a focal discontinuity of the linea alba. Ultrasonogram was not diagnostic, but computed tomogram was suggestive because of the well demonstrated focal defect in l i nea alba.

Epigastric Heteropagus Twin
Parasitic twining is a rare type of monozygotic monochorionic monoamniotic asymmetrical conjoined twin. We report a case of epigastric heteropagus twin. An ultrasound scan showed a defect of 1.5 cm in the epigastrium. CT showed soft tissue lobulated mass with fat and air components coming out of the epigastric defect. At operation rudimentary alimentary canal with no viscera, was found in the p...

isolated spontaneous dissection of the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) are both well-recognized entities, and these were first reported on by Halpern et al. in 1968 and Bauersfield in 1947, respectively (1-3). Noninvasive diagnostic modalities such as Doppler ultrasonography (US), computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) all are known to provide adequate information for th...

متن کاملIncarceration and Perforation of a Sliding Hiatus Hernia: Report of a Case
The potentially serious complications of paraoesophageal hiatus hernias are known but its counterpart the sliding hernia, is thought to be more benign in nature. We describe a 72 year old female admitted with epigastric pain after gorging on her Christmas meal, who proved a diagnostic difficulty for both the medical and surgical registrars and was found to have a perforated incarcerated sliding...

OBJECTIVE Donor site hernias are a rare but well recognised complication of deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap breast reconstruction but there are no reported cases of epigastric hernias after such surgery. We report three patients who developed symptomatic epigastric hernias within 2-8 months after discharge from follow-up. PATIENTS AND METHODS Patients who were referred to the ...
